If I do reliably hear a difference (and manage to pin it to the correct setting) it would prove that there is a difference. (In my particular setup.) If I do not reliably hear a difference, or fail to pin it to the correct setting, it proves nothing. (Except that I was unable to hear any difference with my system, and myself at that particular time.) Also, I did try to describe the limitations of A/B'ing in some detail. Those limitations may play a part in such a test. Other limitations that I haven't mentioned before include the auditory systems ability to adapt to the current sound (with a hysteres-effect) -meaning that judging sound quality in absolute terms may be impossible in A/B test. (Admittedly this effect may not influence detecting if there is a difference.) -- P Floding ------------------------------------------------------------------------ P Floding's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22936 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
