Dan Banquer found an EMI problem with the Squeezebox in this thread http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=30075.0, using an AM radio tuned in between stations to pick up the noise.
In this thread http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/index.php?topic=30207.0, he did more experiments and found that by breaking the galvanic connection between Squeezebox and DAC using a TosLink cable, he was able to eliminate the problem.
