Can *you* hear any difference? If you can't, then I would only do it if you have nothing better to do. I'm in a worse situation than you. I originally ripped everything in 128kbps, before finding out about FLAC. Now, for every new CD I've bought since then, I encode a very high quality VBR mp3 (using LAME) and FLAC at the same time. That way I have all my bases covered. One of these days I'll go back to my old albums, but honestly it doesn't make a big enough difference, at least in my system, to bother with it right now.
