I think you'll find the wisest answer to be - try both, let your ears tell you which you prefer. If possible, have someone help you do blind testing to make your determination. By most accounts the DACs in the SB are as good as what comes in many mass market devices, but perhaps not as good as some outboard DACs, and interconnects could be a factor as well. Give both ways a shot and let us know what you conclude!
