Well, first, if you're using a low quality source like an MP3 then don't
even think about an expensive piece of kit like a Transporter!

So, consider instead playing back a lossless format such as FLAC - what
difference can the player make?  Enormous!! The biggest difference will
be in the quality of the DAC which converts the bits to an analog
signal.

Even if you use the device as a pure digital transport sending the bits
on to the same downstream DAC, you'll still get differences (which you
may or may not be able to detect depending on your ears and the rest of
your kit) due to digital imperfections like jitter.

If this were not the case, all CD players would sound the same, which
they most obviously do not...
