I have a stock unit with an inexpensive power supply and it easily surpasses the SQ of my CDP. I have read review after review by people with high end systems that have fully modded units and PS that rave about the sound quality and these people have the $'s to buy any transport they want. Price is not necessarily indicative of performance/quality. The Squeezebox shifted the audio paradigm.
