You'll have to ask Wellborne why they recommend the high current model for the SB. The original Jung design didn't have any opamps, see the description for: http://www.welbornelabs.com/ps1.htm, the circuit is similar to the high current version. FYI- your Power One and the $30. Astec supply(also rated at 9A on the 5V rail) from Salvagetech have an opamp for the sensor circuit.
