Eric, I don't have an answer for you, but I'm in a similar situation. I have a Transporter connected to a Bryston 4B-ST (which feed a pair of Magnepan 3.6's)
Great sound - no problem so far with the default settings. There is a big difference going from an unbalanced to a balanced cable. I'm very happy with the Transporter, and I'm considering using it as my primary pre-amp.
