One unfortunate difference: the AK4397 isn't able to accept a 3.3v digital supply, only 5.0v, though it does accept 3.3v logic input levels. So, any modification would have to provide a 5.0v supply, ideally separate from the analogue 5.0v, and would also have to disconnect the digital outputs (which I doubt are needed anyway).
That's unless, of course, Transporter uses 5.0v to power the AK4396 digital side - anyone know? (Sean?
