Regardless of how the system is set up, a phono preamp is of course
required. From then on, we have two choices:

1. phono preamp -> analogue preamp -> power amp
2. phono preamp -> A/D converter -> Transporter -> power amp

I think you are saying that you feel setup #1 will give superior sound
quality. Intuitively one would expect this to be the case, as it avoids
the A/D and D/A conversions. But I personally feel that setup #2 will
sound better because in my experience, at a given price point, A/D
converters are more transparent than preamps.
