I would think that adding an a/d converter so that you can feed your
vinyl through the Transporter dac in order to use the Transporter as a
preamp would work for convenience, but it would be counterintuitive for
audio quality.  

The benefit of vinyl is that it is analog and was never subject to an
a/d conversion nor an eventual d/a conversion.  Unless you only care
about the convenience of accessing your records and not their audio
quality, I would suggest another route.

A simple preamp with phono stage should sound much better, however, you
would need to switch your SCM100 interconnects to change sources...
