I would think that adding an a/d converter so that you can feed your vinyl through the Transporter dac in order to use the Transporter as a preamp would work for convenience, but it would be counterintuitive for audio quality.
The benefit of vinyl is that it is analog and was never subject to an a/d conversion nor an eventual d/a conversion. Unless you only care about the convenience of accessing your records and not their audio quality, I would suggest another route. A simple preamp with phono stage should sound much better, however, you would need to switch your SCM100 interconnects to change sources... -Will -- musiklov3r ------------------------------------------------------------------------ musiklov3r's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13166 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33868 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
