I think the music industry is reaping what it sowed for decades. They incorporated royalties into the price of their products but many people have paid the same royalties over and over when they bought the same music in new formats.
This is robbery. Now the shoe is on the other foot so they bring out the lawyers. Those labels and artists showing foresight and working with the public (not against them) will reap the positive rewards in time.
