I like the Fostex PM serie, I have the small PM04, not expensive. Front ported, neutral sound No wallvart or power brick, a real psu in each speaker, even the smallest one has a real amp in each speaker for the same money as some pc-speaker type offerings with amp in one speaker and a cable over to the other one.
