keep in mind: a lot of broadcasters, probably even classical stations, apply EXTRA multi-compression to things to keep the signal/noise ratio decent for over-the-air transmission (and to stop 'overs', which are actually illegal for broadcasters i think, because they cause FM data to leak into the next station)
