I consider BNC to be the only option, period. If you go over to Audio Circle, in The Lab area, I posted some results of various commonly used attempts to wire SPDIF. Don't have a link, but I assume their search feature works. (User name there is "art", different from the one I use here.) Posted over a year ago, so may take a while to find it.
