Not really. If Linn made a standalone dac anymore (which they don't)
you could use an SB3 as a transport and save a packet. The consensus
appears to be that as a pure transport, TP and SB3 are close enough to
make no difference... unless you read Hi-Fi World of course, where
apparently transports can make all sorts of extraordinary soundstaging,
dynamics and tonal balance differences (falls off chair laughing at
latest issue).
