That makes sense, since I believe it is a race condition (timing/threading problem) in the firmware. I had a problem opening a bug in bugzilla, but I have sent them an email with some suggestions. If you are familiar with "assert()" in programming, it is used where you consider it better to halt than to continue in the event that some test fails. That's kind of what this is.
