Not so fast.... I went from a Duet receiver connected digitally via the optical digital output to a Headroom desktop amp with a built-in DAC to a Touch connected digitally via the optical digital output to the same Headroom desktop amp and I notice a not insignificant difference in the sound. With the Touch the sound is slightly more detailed with cleaner and leaner (in a very good way) bass. In my opinion, well worth the $300 cost of the Touch. In addition the DAC in the Touch may prove to sound better then the DAC tomasito is using in his current system. Plus with a Touch he gets to move the receiver to his garage and enjoy his music collection while puttering around in the garage! -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79561 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
