The fact that there is so much discussion here shows how much individual
interpretation plays a role. 

I get into these discussions with those that are set on the
"superiority" of vinyl over digital. Vinyl is superior to digital in
some areas due to the non step like nature of analog vs. digital.
Digital is superior in other areas (noise). Which is ultimately
"superior" is open for interpretation and debate.

It gets back to the implementation. I thought it quite curious when I
was rereading the Stereophile article about the Touch. The reviewer
found the best sound from the Touch to be delivered via USB to the Ayre
DX-5. How is that? Better from the PC to the Touch, then the Ayre, vs
directly from the PC to the Ayre? Sounded nonsensical. No real comment
on that in the review, but I would not be "surprised" if that was the
conclusion of the reviewer.
