I won´t comment to much on a vendors chord but i did some homework with
these things. 
In the days of Powerline and other things polluting the mains there is
some chance a power chord can act as lowpass filter due to the way it
is build and therefore may influence the electronics behind. BUT! A
simple coil filter can do that 1000 times better with ease and much
cheaper.
I did some audible testing with speakers connecting to the mains with
capacitors and had a listen but this is "not to be meant to do at home"
for people that don´t know about it. It is dangerous!
Just looking at a mains transfomator collecting dust in the corner of
my room...
