If they were transferring from the analog..
Quite frequently they use DSD material (which was also upsampled in the
past), and merely convert to PCM (a lossy process!), applying some more
filtering, etc..

There is nothing in DSD that requires more than 60Khz sampling rate..
Over 25Khz there is a catastrophic amount of noise...
