An SB3 isn't capable of feeding an external DAC anything that it can't also
play.
It doesn't have the clock for it.
So there's nothing that can be done.
SbS should be resampling 24/96 to 24/48 for the SB3.

Thanks - how does the squeezebox server know the capabilities of the
player?
Is it hardcoded in the perl code somewhere
or is it determined by a protocol request to the player?
