But we're talking about running cables inside walls, here, next to all sorts of potential sources of electrical noise, and there's little reason why you wouldn't want to use shielded cables there. If you insist on running UTP cables with the Squeezebox, you can still use one UTP patch cable from the wall socket to the player.
