One thing people don't seem to realize is that internet is actually a giant copying machine. Any time you consume any content on the net, that content gets copied. If you were to stream a FLAC file stored somewhere in the cloud (and btw, that 'cloud' doesn't necessarily imply some evil-greedy-capitalist-totalitarian farm of servers; it could just as well be your own machine located elsewhere, accessible only by yourself, connected to the network), that FLAC gets copied over to where you're consuming it. Same goes for any other content, such as web pages, images, PDFs, etc. So there's insane amount of redundancy, caused by incessant acts of copying, that is happening all over the globe as we speak. No one can calculate the magnitude of it, and it's getting bigger and bigger with each passing second. So basically we're now dealing with the biggest copying machine in human history, which is only destined to get bigger and bigger.
