Update: I left everything on overnight and now the output from the DAC sounds amazing, I guess something needed to warm up. But the DAC and Touch are always on so its most likely the big tube amp which I don't leave on all the time. I've never heard such a big difference between only been on half an hour and been on for 10 hours.
