SBGK: I think that with your latest settings you're on to something.
I tried the SBT priorities + TT3.0 + Buffer 20000 and my first impression is that the music is presented more naturally; the flow is more effortless; there is greater detail, but without losing the music's gestalt and drive. I have a rather mediocre live recording of the Guarneri's excellent performances of Mozart's viola quintets, which is a test case both for tonal balance (the viola needs to be distinguished easily within the mix) and for soundstage (placement of mikes for public performance clearly having a deleterious effect). These latest settings seem to have achieved the most believable presentation of these pieces I've heard so far in my system. So buffer size really seems to make a difference . . . Will listen more and report further, but in the meantime thanks again for your dogged pursuit of perfection!
