Of course it does. But enough of a difference? For whom? At what cost?

Not surprisingly perhaps, on this forum you will find people who
profess an external DAC makes all the difference or none, some who
claim that if it does it only makes a tiny one, some who swear by all
sort of mods, others that think believers in mods are fooling
themselves, and so on.

You are free to take anyone's advice (including mine) or not. But it's
your music, your $$$, your system, your room, your preferences, etc.
that count. Only you can say!
