HAHA! thanks for the information. I find it got a bit into the weeds, for me personally, when it came to the daily tweaking posts. I enjoy the music but don't want to stick my head in a vice to get the perfect sound. Where does it end? I want to set it and forget it. My main concern was whether to spend money on a DAC or just use the analog outs, and achieve a more balanced audio and space, than my current CD player which is a bit bright. Having the Touch at stock settings then to a DAC, is just the answer that makes the most sense to me. Another reason I looked into the SW tweaks initially was a descrepancy in sound I experienced when listening to Sky.FM in 256k vs a lossless rip of the exact same track on my own server. Oddly, SKY.FM had more fidelity on my 716V's which defies logic... mind you I listen to mostly classic rock, etc. so SKY.FM could be streaming a remastered version of the old CD I ripped. So it may not even be an apples to apples comparison. I thought initially it was a link in my chain, and I wanted to see if any tweaks made a difference. I think I am going to reset the Touch and look for a decent DAC (<$1000), and be done with it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. -- Munroe ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Munroe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52982 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92801 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
