Yea wonder what those ultrasonic do with transformer coupled tube amps ? Transistor amp may get unstable but most likely just a tiny bit hotter , speakers ? Wonder how much gunk an SACD player filter out ? Converting DSD to very hig Rez PCM moves the noise in to the signal domain of the PCM copy, the playback equipment would not know that this is not signal ? And thus not filter it out . I'm sure this sounds "different" ;) A more sane way to convert DSD to PCM would be to have some kind of filter at 25-30k and then use 24/88.2so that a really steep filtering kicks in at 44.1 multiples of 44.1 is prefered as the DSD frequency is a multiple of 44.1 . Th00hts curves illustrates this very well . 176kHz for SACD/DSD sourced stuff is pointless and probably not even a good idea ? -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
