John, first things first, while you could be right that the 8kHz tone (+16kHz harmonic) is related to the USB2 PHY, where is the measurement that this is so? Amir could still be correct that these are +/-4kHz sidebands from his jitter test couldn't he? I didn't see him measuring a 11kHz tone or even show whether digital silence results in this 8kHz tone. Perhaps I missed this in the long thread...
