Should make jitter measurements better... But I doubt it'll be audible unsighted. Nevertheless, it is an inexpensive upgrade. If you have a choice, just use an asynchronous USB DAC from the Pi. Much better than any S/PDIF from an objective measurement perspective - again, not that I think in blind listening you're going to hear whatever jitter differences.
