Also, which aufs patch did you apply?
I'm applying (in this order)
- aufs3-kbuild.patch
- aufs3-base.patch
- aufs3-mmap.patch
(no standalone patch for the moment)
- Copying the files {Documentation,fs} to the source tree
- cp include/linux/aufs_type.h ./include/linux/aufs_type.h
