MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for lib32-freeimage [2]:

This library never seems to have had any consuming bin32/lib32 package
to rely on it since 2014.

Therefore I recommend deletion.

It also does not follow Arch package guidelines like extra/freeimage
does in relying on shared libraries; instead, it builds and bundles
other libraries inside a static libfreeimageplus.a, like the old
version of the following:
libraw, openexr, libjpeg, libpng, libtiff4, zlib, openjpeg, libwebp,
libjxr.

Then it goes on to discard the bundled libfreeimageplus.a file.

It seems safe to drop from AUR. No dependents, and last user comment
is from 2016.
