As we're developing the Dynamis system we find we have to know how
many different PERFORMANCE flap settings there are in various gliders
(not including landing flap) fro an advanced feature.
So could people who own modern flapped gliders please let me know how
many performance flap settings there are in your glider? Thanks in
advance. Posting ehre would be good so we don't get too many duplicates.
The first set of actual flight algorithms for Dynamis were tested on
Easter Sunday and Monday. Very fast vario with excellent TE
compensation and NO sensitivity to horizontal gusts. That's what
makes it possible to use a fast response vario as anyone who has flown
with a very fast vario connected to a probe will know. We were
comparing the results to a B700 which runs about as fast response as
is useful. Also works well while turning inside thermals and in
flight calibration was easy and once done is rock solid.
This truly a 6th generation air data system (it's much more than a vario).
The weather was perfect for the tests with weak and quite strong
thermals and some that were turbulent and gusty at the edges so we
could leave and fly back at higher speed to check the gust rejection.
My test pilot, Scott, was very impressed and the ASH25 is a
VERY nice glider.
