Could I respectfully suggest that this be discussed off list?

If you type "fdisk" into the terminal, is it shown there? Hi Adam, On this computer (not the laptop) I am running Ubuntu. Below is the output of fdisk -l when I insert a normal USB stick. ken@C3PO:~$ sudo fdisk -l [sudo] password for ken: Disk /dev/sda: 400.1 GB, 400088457216 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 48641 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000170de Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 1 8001 83 Linux /dev/sda2 2 127 1012095 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda3 128 48641 389688705 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdb: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0xc53a1443 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 1 9729 78148161 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdc: 1001 MB, 1001914368 bytes 16 heads, 32 sectors/track, 3822 cylinders Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 = 262144 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x0008b170 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 * 1 3822 978416 c W95 FAT32 (LBA) ken@C3PO:~$ If I do this with the flyWithCE instead of the USB stick it only finds the two hard drives. I have tried this both with the recorder powered on and off. The Logbook software for Windows installs a special driver as well as the logbook application. It would be very convenient if I could copy the files from the flight recorder directly to my laptop running a version of Linux. The flight recorder does not appear as a USB flash drive nor as a USB HDD. Does anyone on this list know of a way to get the Flight Recorder to talk to a Linux computer?
