For 4) I suggest unspecified; many shells allow arrays to be imported from
the environment, and GNU bash even has imported functions… I’d be very
much against a requirement to transform them somehow (especially as that
would open the door to more attacks), so (shell-locally) extending the
permitted values and ignoring the rest is a sane way to go.
