The following issue has been SUBMITTED. ====================================================================== https://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=1900 ====================================================================== Reported By: calestyo Assigned To: ====================================================================== Project: 1003.1(2024)/Issue8 Issue ID: 1900 Category: Front Matter Type: Enhancement Request Severity: Editorial Priority: normal Status: New Name: Christoph Anton Mitterer Organization: User Reference: Section: preface Page Number: v, vii Line Number: non Interp Status: --- Final Accepted Text: ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 2024-12-21 19:40 UTC Last Modified: 2024-12-21 19:40 UTC ====================================================================== Summary: cosmetic: implementors vs. implementers Description: Throughout the standard the text uses the wording "implementor[s]" whereas in the preface there are two occasions where "implementer[s]": - Laws and regulations "Implementers of the standard are responsible…" - IMPORTANT NOTICE "Implementers and users of IEEE Standards…"
Wiktionary lists the former as an alternative spelling of the latter (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/implementor), but not sure whether that’s authoritative enough. Desired Action: This is just a heads up and in principle I'd be fine if it's left as is, but maybe you want to align the spelling to either of the two forms (probably to implementor[s]). ====================================================================== Issue History Date Modified Username Field Change ====================================================================== 2024-12-21 19:40 calestyo New Issue 2024-12-21 19:40 calestyo Name => Christoph Anton Mitterer 2024-12-21 19:40 calestyo Section => preface 2024-12-21 19:40 calestyo Page Number => v, vii 2024-12-21 19:40 calestyo Line Number => non ======================================================================
