It seems that comment exceeded Mantis's email creation capabilities; for your interest, i responded to lanodan's https://www.austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=1960#c7336 this (not reformatted for email): Oh! Ah! kre@ was thinking further:

This is Ricardo Branco's implementation of O_CLOFORK (and associated fcntl, etc) for NetBSD (with a few minor changes by me).

It seems to be one of the "minor changes by " him thus (all BSDs based upon or directly used Ricardo Branco's patch series, as far as i got the context). I cannot find the note you quote in 3b76bf9d1a02af2547ecb7c117906069a7eefa45 as of 2025-11-29 (i only update / look (a bit) OS repos once a month; but for Linux kernel updates). I personally would not use _CLOBOTH; maybe Linux adds a CLOCLONE or something -- i have no idea, yet, it would then be three and which two of us would it then be? My humble opinion. --steffen | |Der Kragenbaer, The moon bear, |der holt sich munter he cheerfully and one by one |einen nach dem anderen runter wa.ks himself off |(By Robert Gernhardt)
