This might be of interest to those in the team who are doing translations...

I was talking to someone last night about some of the issues we face with translating things like the user guides... mixed sources etc etc. He mentioned an application called OmegaT. It's cross platform and open source, so it's available for everyone to install. It can import from ODF and MediaWiki sources (and others)... uses translation memories... and it has a bunch of other features.

If you use Linux, and want to try it out, check your distro repositories... chances are it's already available to you.

I gave it a quick look late last night, and it looks like it might be useful... but I'm not a translator.

It'd be interesting to get some feedback from someone here though.
