[authors] Example Database

I was wondering if anyone was actively working on the example database 
that was outined on the board.

If not, I would be willing to put together a first pass, along with a 
simple running commentatry of what I did along the way of making it. 
Even a few screen shots of the process.

I did not want to duplicate any effort that is underway however.
