Dan,
As I mentioned in an earlier note, I used the material on master
slides that I cut out of your Chapter 1 as the basis for this
chapter, which I have uploaded here:
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/impress/feedback/0502IG-MasterSlides_28Nov06_JHW.odt
You will see that this draft is incomplete. Some (hopefully
small) sections have not yet been written; they are marked by
some notes enclosed in double parentheses, thus: (( )).
In your Ch1 draft, you had a section for "When graphic style
changes can be made to the master slides." I wasn't quite sure
what to put in there, so I left it out. You might want to include
it, with suitable text. I also wasn't sure how much to say about
the different style types, and I ran out of energy to write
something; perhaps one of us can fill that in too.
The section on customizing backgrounds was taken from the Draw
Guide and only slightly modified. I considered simply referring
the reader to the Draw Guide but decided it was better to have
this information in the Impress Guide as well.
Some pictures need recapturing; I'll do that later.
Please feel free to amend this draft yourself and/or offer
comments for rework that I can do. Among other things, do you
think I've got too much or not enough information on the topics
included? Have I have completely forgotten any topics that should
be in this chapter? And, of course, did I get it right?
Other people -- you are also most welcome to read and comment on
this chapter and chapter 1 of this book. We really need to have
each chapter reviewed by several people, with different levels of
knowledge about the program.
Thanks! --Jean
