Hmm not sure about Xfree 3.3.6 - but it should work.

Basic idea is this one.

Compile mga_vid - install in modules.

Create device  mknod /dev/mga_vid c 178 0 

(WARNING - contains code from mplayer mga_vid - and if you use mplayer -
it will work, however this will destroy usability of Xv hw overlay 
so you would have to restart XFree server after using mplayer with mga
video driver!)
aviplayer is using non-destructive way for this - but Arpi doesn't want
to integrate this into a single common device :(... )

modprobe mga_vid

and start aviplayer - it should be auto detected.

Device is sending synchronization pulses so its giving precise timing.
