well I know that libmpeg3 is quite easy to use - I'm just leaving it
ouside of avifile so we do not get reports about unplayable mpegs vobs
or DVDs :)

well I'm not saying aviplay library is large but it's currently not being
optimized for the size and C++ is known to be adding some overhead over
the plain C code (but we are doing the best we can - except GNU develepors
seem to be working on GB RAM machines now as they are producing such monsters
as g++3.0 so it's not easy to - but J.Jelinek is also working quite hard
on smarted linker and loader and I've been 'almost promised' we may expect
huge compilation speed boost).
