Well if the distribution is mixing new XFree and old non-recompiled SDL
then there will be a problem.
I'm thinking about some solution for this - but it's not easy - your advice
actually might be quite right for most of users
- as if SDL was linked with dynamic Xv & DGA library and XFree has changed
interface then you might expect many weird results even during link phase
- I think this would explain those strange crashes which happens even before
aviplay actually gets started - I think I'll add some info about this
on page later - I suppose even Debian-Testing is affected with this
problem according to reports
