It depends on the  fourcc  header - if it's there  DX50 then 
DivX5.0 will be used - but  if it's there just DIVX  (which has been
used for OpenDivX/DivX4/Xvid and similar) then DivX4.0 or FFMpeg OpenDivx
will be used - and as you have FFmpeg OpenDivX right before DivX4.0
then ffmpeg will be used for such files - there is no magic here ;)

However there is probably lack of documentation and better selection
dialog - I've some planes to at least  make the dialog better and
easier to understand...
