I tried using avrdude but it does not work with my ISP unit. Here is the

The AVR board is from Same page.

When I use avrdude,

avrdude.exe -p m8 -c avrisp -P com4 (tried with config file too)

It gives me error get_sync() failed, returned 0x03 , and could not find any
docs on this error

Any help will be appreciated

There is none, and avrprog.exe is discontinued.

Most of the things you could do with avrprog can also be done with
avrdude (except decrypting/unscrambling the Atmel firmware files).
