Follow-up Comment #1, bug #18918 (project avrdude):
I don't have the exact hardware here. But using:
$avrdude -c stk500v2 -p 8515 -P /dev/ttyS0
With a ATMega16 plugged in I get:
avrdude: Expected signature for AT90S8515 is 1E 93 01
(No 8515 on hand)
Do you still get this error? I compiled from CVS today. Are there any errors
in either of your configuration files?
