Follow-up Comment #8, bug #34339 (project avrdude):
Btw., of course, there would be a much easier fix to solve
the Arduino problem: issue the bootloader and application
flash requests in a single avrdude command.
Advantages of this approach:
. works with _any_ avrdude release already right now
. much faster than the avrdude with the hack applied, as
there's no need to wait for the re-enumeration process
