Well, it's a hack, and developers don't love hacks. Actually,
this _is_ the "workaround", while a clean solution would be
anything not requiring this (like, issuing only one
avrdude command straight from the beginning, and have it
do everything).
That doesn't mean the idea is completely rejected.
