Hi, I'm totally new to the flash world (coming from a Java background
with a touch of 3D understanding). Could someone answer a few basic
questions for me?

First - I'm looking for a good all around resource to start learning
from. I've been working through the tutorials, but would love to just
pay for a book or something that has a solid beginning to end lesson
plan built (I can't quite make it to London for the training I see
held sadly). Any suggestions? I see that Papervision has a wrox press
book coming out soon - anything similar for Away3D?

Second - When I see a book that talks about "Games and Animation"
related to "Flex & Actionscript" I assume they are referring to 2D
game programming and related topics. For 3D game programming one of
the 3D engines would need to be mentioned (Away3D, Papervision, etc).
Is this understanding correct?

Last - As I learn about this area could I get some opinions on whether
I should spend time with some 2D based books (excluding the Away3D
libraries) before moving on to 3D, or would the overall time to learn
be less if I just stick with 3D, thus focusing my efforts on an area
that has a sharper learning curve, but learning what is more pertinent
to my end goal (that is, learning how to develop 3D graphics in
flash). Just want some opinions here.

Thanks!
David
